GATE NIGHTS

Join us every Tuesday evening from 6:00pm till 7:30pm for our exciting Gates nights. These open practice sessions are available for any AUS Cycling member, regardless of which club they belong to. BMX and mountain bike riders are welcome to come down and enjoy the thrill of practicing on the start gate, without needing to be at an official race event.

For just $3 per rider, you can take advantage of this unique opportunity to hone your skills and have a blast with fellow cycling enthusiasts. Our Gates nights are a great way to socialize, meet new people, and enjoy your favorite pastime.

New members are encouraged to attend Gates nights once they have comfortably ridden the track. It's a great way to apply your newfound skills and challenge yourself even further.

When not hosting official events or coaching sessions, our track is open to the public to enjoy at any time. So, come on down and get your cycling fix with us at every Tuesday's Gates night. Our canteen will also be open and waiting to serve up all your favorites.

EQUIPMENT

BMX does always require the correct gear to ride safety especially for those just starting out.

When booking in for coaching or gates you are required to wear long sleeve tops and pants as well as gloves and a full-face helmet. We have some gear available to loan for first time riders keen to try out the sport first. We also have bikes available on loan, but you can find out more from other club members about which bike is best to buy first time. for when you’re ready get serious and ride weekly.

Once you become a member AUS Cycling will receive a race number and you are required to buy a race plate if you intend on racing. If you are not intending on racing a Race plate is not required for gate nights or coaching sessions.  Race plates are required for all Club and State Racing and are colour coded to your age group.

PLATES:

ï„‘Green = Novice          Blue = Expert Girls

Yellow = Expert Boys  Orange = Sprockets

MINI WHEELERS

Definetly the cutest part about any BMX club is the Mini Wheelers. From the age of 2 if you have a little one who loves to ride you can bring them down to the club anytime there is no coaching or official events on and let them have a go running around on there foot to floor bikes. We do not offer any coaching for mini wheelers but they can sign up to AUS Cycling and join in racing offical events. Mini wheelers is recommended before they take the next step up to Sporcket class which they can race once they can comfortable ride the entire track on there micro bmx without assistance.
